Congratulations to you on signing up!  Now that you have access to the ccTLD Box, you can:

Chapter One:  Getting Started


I have just signed up for a customer account.  What do i do now?

When you first get your account, there are a few features you will need to review and configure in your account before you can purchase domain names and products online.  Please do these first:

1.  Review and Edit Profile and Password
2.  Top Up Credit Balance and/or review other payment modes
3.  Create and Manage Contacts and Nameservers
4.  Configure your Default Settings


Once you are satisfied with the configuration and settings in your account, you will be ready to:

How do i review and edit my Profile and Password?

You would want to run past the details in your profile to know it’s all good.

1.  My Account > My Profile > (to view and edit your own Access and Contact Details)

2.  My Account > Change Password >  (to change your password)

 

 

 

How to top-up Credit Balance? What payment modes are there?

“Credit Balance” is the payment mode available to all customers using the ccTLD Box.  This is the most convenient mode of payment with the least administrative effort.  Your current credit balance is prominently displayed upon login on top of the ccTLD Box customer panel:

Hi User ID
Your Credit Balance is $—.-


To top up your Credit Balance,  Select Finance > Top Up Credit Balance > follow online instructions to complete the transaction

Other payment modes are available on a case-by-case basis.

 

 

How to Create and Manage Contacts?

If you have a large portfolio of domain names and web products, you may need the help of other persons (e.g staff or colleagues) to register and manage them.

1.  Creating Contacts:  The ccTLD Box allows you to create Contacts, which are also  User IDs with the same access permissions as your own.   These User IDs will have contact information linked to them.  To create a User, go to:    “Manage Contact”  > Create Contact >  then follow on-screen instructions to create the ID.  

2.  Editing Contact Details:  To edit Contact details,  go to:  “Manage Contact” > Edit Contact > Search > Click on User’s Login ID > Edit > Amend Contact details as required > Save

How to create and manage nameservers?

In the event nameservers do not already exist for your account, you may need to create them by selecting:   “Manage Nameserver”  > Create Nameserver > Key-in nameserver (e.g. nl1.abc.com > IP Address Lookup > IP Address of the nameserver will be retrieved > Create

To check if a nameserver already exists, select   “Manage Nameserver”  >  Check Nameserver > Key-in Nameserver (e.g. ns1.abc.com) >> Check > If the nameserver has already been created, the system will display a “Host Taken” message.

 

 

How to Configure Default Settings?

Assigning Default Contacts: 

You can pre-define a set of default contacts for each domain extension.  When domain names under these extensions are added to your cart, the contacts you have indicated will be automatically applied.  To set Default Contacts, go to:  “Manage Default Setting”  > Assign Default Contact > Select Extension  > Select Default Contact for Registrant, Administration, Billing and Technical > Save

The system is flexible enough to allow amendment of contacts for each domain name at any time during or after registration.

 

Edit or Delete Default Contacts:  

Default Contact can be amended at any time:  “Manage Default Setting”  > Search Default Contact  > Select Extension > Search

To Edit, Select Edit > Amend as required > Save
To Delete, Select Delete > Confirm Delete

 

Assigning Default Nameservers: 

When a set of default nameservers is defined, this set will be applied to each domain name added to your cart:  “Manage Default Setting” > Assign Default Nameserver  > Key-in nameservers > Save

Setting defaults for auto-renewals and renewal reminders:  “Manage Default Setting”   > Assign Other Default  > Select or deselect as required > Save

How to Register a new domain name


Manage Domain > Register New Domain > at Advanced Search, key in desired domain name & select extension > Check

If required name is Available  > Select required number of years  > Add to Cart > follow on-screen instructions to complete the transaction

 

 

How to Transfer a domain Name from another Registrar

Manage Domain > Transfer from another registrar > Follow onscreen instructions to complete the transaction

 

 

How to Transfer a Domain Name from another user account within the same system to your account

Manage Domain > Transfer from Another Account > Follow on-screen instructions to complete the transaction

 

 

How to Request for Authorisation Code for Transfer of Domain Names outwards to another Registrar?

  • Log in your account in the cctldbox customer panel (Resellers) OR business panel (for staff with permission to initiate transfer)
  • Respectively, click on “My Domains” OR “Manage Domains” & search for a particular domain name to transfer-out
  • Click on the hyperlink on the domain name to enter the “Domain Properties” page
  • At the bottom of the page in the “Registrar Transfer-Out” section, click on “Request” to enter “Request for Registrar Transfer-Out Authorisation Code” page
  • Select one of the radio buttons.  If you select “Others”, you can fill in the feedback textarea
  • Click on submit
  • The result will be either “success” or “in progress”
  • When status shows “success”, an auth-code email will be sent to you
  • Please follow instructions on the email to complete the transfer-out process

 

How to Back Order a domain name

You can back order a domain name that has already been registered by another party.  This is a watch service which attempts to register the desired domain name once it enters the free market.

Back Order > Back Order Domain > follow on-screen instructions to complete the transaction

What is WHOIS?

Conducting a WHOIS search will help reveal the contact details of the entity owning or administering a domain name.

Tool > WHOIS > Follow on-screen instructions to complete the search

 

 

What are country rules?

Article the cctld box contains a repository of rules for all domain name extensions available internationally.  Accessing Country Rules will facilitate better understanding of the purpose, pre-requisites and regulations surrounding each domain name space.

Tool > Country Rule > Select Required Extension, Extension Type, Grade and Phase

 

 

What is the IDN Convertor?

The IDN Convertor allows you to convert an International Domain Name from its Native Form (Unicode) to Punycode and vice versa.  It is useful as many extensions impose a maximum character rule which is based on the Punycode format.

Tool > IDN convertor > enter your domain name > convert

What is Domain Search?

The Domain Search tool allows you to determine whether or not a domain name has already been registered anywhere in the world.

Manage Domain > Domain Search >   In Advanced Search:   >  key in required domain name and select required extensions  > check

 

 

How can i view prices of domain names?

The “View My Price” function allows you to view all prices of domain names offered to you, either individually or in downloadable MS Excel format.

Finance > View My Price

 

 

How to revise details for domain names in my account?

To review details for any domain name you have in your account:  Manage Domain > My Domain

This gives you access to a sortable list and status summary of all domain names in your account.

Click on the link for the selected domain name.    Here, you can follow on-screen instructions to:

>  Revise Details for Registrant, Admin, Billing and Technical Contacts
>  Edit Nameserver and DNS Records
>  Edit Renewal Reminder and Auto-Renewal Settings

 

 

How to access a list of Expiring domain names?

To access a list of domain names which will be expiring soon :       Manage Domain > Expiring Domain

 

 

How to Renew my Domain Names?


To Renew Domain Names:

Manage Domain > Renew Domain > Select required domain names > Add to Cart > Follow on-screen instructions to renew

What are web products? How to subscribe?

Web Products are products and/or services that are complementary to your domain name portfolio.  To subscribe to a web product: select Web Product > Subscribe Web Product > Select the desired Product > Follow on-screen instructions to complete the transaction.

 

 

Will web products expire? How to renew web products?

Web products, like domain names, have expiry dates and you would have to renew them in order to keep the service going.

To view web products that will expire soon:  >  Web Product > Expiring Web Product

To renew web products:   > Web Product  > Renew Web Product

> click on “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or update email you have received
> Follow instructions to complete the unsubscribe process

 

Chapter Six:  Guide for Partner Basic Users

 

API Integration

 

Partners can apply for API Access to implement their own real-time domain name operations within any website.  Two types of Access platforms are available:  EPP or RAPI:

 

1) To apply for EPP access:

  • Log into your partner account
  • Under Partner Tools, download the EPP Client Guide and the latest version of EPP Client Toolkit
  • We provide you a test environment for you to test your implementation.  Once you are satisfied with your test implementation, you will be ready to connect to our production environment.  Please fill in the IP Address Modification Form for EPP/RAPI and submit to us to allow your production servers to connect to our production environment.

2) To apply for RAPI access:

  • Log into your partner account
  • Under Partner Tools, download the latest version of the RAPI Guide
  • We provide you a test environment for you to test your implementation.  Once you are satisfied with your test implementation, you will be ready to connect to our production environment.  Please fill in the IP Address Modification Form for EPP/RAPI and submit to us to allow your production servers to connect to our production environment.
